Small Faces IMMEDIATE SINGLES

SMALL FACES CELEBRATIONS CONTINUE WITH NEW LIMITED EDITION BOXSET

Hard-shell box packed with replica Immediate 7-inch singles in rare picture sleeves and on Immediate labels.

16-page booklet with rare photos, memorabilia and track-by-track information.

Strictly limited edition of 500 numbered boxsets only.

The Small Faces summer celebrations continue with a new deluxe boxset collecting all the band’s classic Immediate 7-inch singles from 1967-1969. Repressed from the original Immediate Records master tapes and housed in a lavish hard-shell boxset, the new set forms a companion piece to the ‘Decca Singles 1965-1967’ boxset.

All boxsets feature photographer Gered Mankowitz’s famous 1967 “v-signs” shot of the Small Faces, deliberately set up by Immediate label boss Andrew Loog Oldham straight after Ian McLagan’s marijuana bust so Oldham could capture “all the rage” from Mac. Each boxset will be individually numbered 1-500 and not repressed.

Every 7-inch single released by Immediate Records will be reissued in a rare picture sleeve from Belgium, France, Italy, Germany and The Netherlands during 1967 to 1969. ‘Mad John’, originally released in the USA and Australia without a picture sleeve, features a new design by Phil Smee and includes original ‘Mad John’ artwork by Nick Tweddell from the Small Faces No.1 album ‘Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake’. Also included is a facsimile of the rarest Small Faces record, ‘Album Sampler’, a one-sided promotional single for the band’s debut LP on Immediate Records — featuring excerpts from ‘Get Yourself Together’, ‘Green Circles’, ‘Talk To You’, ‘All Our Yesterdays’ and ‘Up The Wooden Hills To Bedfordshire’, narrated by DJ Tommy Vance, in a reproduction of a 1967 Immediate Records sleeve.

Each boxset will include a lavishly-illustrated 16-page booklet with rare photos, original memorabilia and full track-by-track information for each Immediate single A and B side. Mastered to vinyl by Nick Robbins from the original Immediate master tapes, with graphic design and artwork by Phil Smee and curated by surviving Small Faces member, Kenney Jones.

“What I really like about this new deluxe edition is the Small Faces finally get to have an input. Immediate originally rushed out ‘The Autumn Stone’ compilation after we’d split into the Faces & Humble Pie. And no one spotted the big mistake on the cover or that songs had been left off! I’ve added an unreleased track and versions newly mixed that have never been heard before, a whole side of acoustic mixes that showcase Steve Marriott’s incredible voice, one side of live songs newly mastered to vinyl at the correct speed & everything is remastered from original tapes, including the Decca tracks. I’ve added songs that me, RonnieMac & Steve loved working on & I got to correct all the errors with the original sound. The box set looks incredible, with gold foil lettering, 3-LPs pressed on 180-gram autumn stone and gold vinyl. There’s a 68-page hardback book which has so much in it, including sleeve notes, interviews, track-by-track details, a feature on our ‘1862’ sessions & pages of rare memorabilia, original artwork & previously unseen photos by our wonderful photographers, including Gered Mankowitz. I’m so pleased Gered is working with me on the album he originally helped design. Which means after 55 years, he’s finally put the Small Faces name on the cover!” KENNEY JONES, 2025

Curated by Kenney Jones & newly mastered, the expanded limited edition 3-LP boxset features previously unreleased tracks newly mixed from

original LP, the new 3-LP & 3-CD editions will feature previously unreleased & rare versions of Small Faces songs, including stripped-down acoustic mixes which highlight the distinctive & unique voice of Steve Marriott.
A 68-page hardback book will contain detailed sleeve notes & track-by-track recording information, lavishly illustrated with rare memorabilia, original artwork & previously unseen photos by Small Faces photographers Tony Gale & Gered Mankowitz.
